Who is it for?
If a First Aider is not legally required, an employer must still appoint a person to take charge of first aid provision, and this course provides that person with the necessary knowledge to do so. This course is also ideal for lone workers, employees of smaller low risk organisations and any individual who wants a solid grounding in basic first aid. This course is often the minimum requirement for sports instructors, teachers and support workers.

Client specific areas such as head injuries, epilepsy and diabetes etc can be included.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course the delegates will be able to:
- Recognise and appropriately treat most emergency situations
- Give emergency First Aid to an injured person until medical assistance arrives
- Carry out the duties of an Appointed Person as specified within the First Aid Regulations
Assessment
There is no formal assessment as this is not required by the HSE, but each delegate will receive a certificate which is valid for 3 years.

4 ½ hours
