First Aid for Martial Arts

This course is suitable for those who teach or participate
in all forms of martial arts including:
judo, karate, ju-jitsu, kick boxing and kung fu.

 

 


Who is it for?

This course meets the minimum First Aid requirement for most martial arts instructors. It is also ideal for anyone who participates in any form of martial art.

  • CPR & rescue breathing
  • Maintaining First Aid Kits
  • Wounds & bleeding
  • Head injuries
  • Eye Injuries
  • Breaks and fractures
  • Spinal Injuries.
  • Epilepsy, diabetes and Seizures

The subjects covered can be tailored to suit the Martial Arts offered by your organisation, and additional items can be covered at your request.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course the delegates will be able to:

  • Recognise and appropriately treat most emergency situations including those specific to Martial arts
  • Give emergency First Aid to an injured person until medical assistance arrives
  • Carry out the duties of an Appointed Person as specified within the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) First Aid Regulations.

Assessment

There is no formal assessment as this is not required by the H.S.E, but each delegate will receive a certificate which is valid for 3 years.
